1. 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Status
The Filipino-American Association of the Tri-Cities is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization as recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Our mission is to promote and preserve Filipino culture, heritage, and tradition within the Tri-Cities community and to provide charitable support to those in need.
2. Tax-Deductibility of Contributions
Donations and gifts made to the Filipino-American Association of the Tri-Cities are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
- Monetary Donations: Please retain your donation receipt (sent via email or mail) for your tax records.
- In-Kind Donations: For non-cash contributions, the Association will provide an acknowledgment of the gift. Please note that the valuation of the items is the legal responsibility of the donor; the Association cannot provide a dollar valuation for donated goods.
3. Membership Dues
Please consult with your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of membership dues. Generally, dues are deductible only to the extent that they exceed the monetary value of any benefits or services received in exchange for the membership.
4. Public Inspection
In accordance with federal law, our IRS Determination Letter, recent Form 990 filings, and application for exemption are available for public inspection upon request. You may view these documents on our Financial Transparency page or by contacting our Treasurer directly.
5. State Registrations
The Association is registered to solicit contributions in the State of Washington. Registration with the Secretary of State does not imply endorsement.
