Volunteer Terms, Conditions & Waiver

Effective Date: March 1, 2026

By participating as a volunteer for the Filipino-American Association of the Tri-Cities (the “Organization”), I hereby agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Nature of Volunteer Relationship
I understand that my services are being provided on a strictly voluntary basis without expectation of pay, health insurance, or workers’ compensation benefits. I am not an employee of the Organization and acknowledge that I may end my volunteer service at any time. 

2. Waiver and Release of Liability
I hereby release and forever discharge the Organization and its officers, directors, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, and demands for bodily injury, illness, death, or property damage that may arise from my volunteer activities, including those caused by the negligence of the Organization. 

3. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that volunteer activities may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to physical tasks, event setup, or transportation to project sites. I voluntarily and knowingly accept these risks. 

4. Photographic and Media Release
I grant the Organization permission to use any photographs, video, or audio recordings taken during my volunteer work for promotional, educational, or social media purposes without further compensation or approval. 

5. Confidentiality
In the course of my service, I may have access to sensitive community or donor information. I agree to maintain the strict confidentiality of all such data and will not disclose it to any third party. 

6. Emergency Medical Treatment
I hereby release the Organization from any claim related to first-aid or medical services provided in an emergency during my volunteer service. 

7. Parental Consent (For Volunteers Under 18)
If the volunteer is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign this waiver on their behalf, acknowledging the risks and granting the releases stated herein. 

8. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be handled in the appropriate court in Benton County, Washington.
